"The intersection of nature and science is one I find fascinating and continue to explore how to integrate the two in my artwork. Sometimes obvious and sometimes subtle, there is an element of both in everything I make."

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Jessica spent her childhood outside, surrounded by trees, rivers, mountains, and the ocean. Her upbringing in this region influences her work deeply and, even in abstraction, nature is the driving force behind everything she creates.

Though she has a background in clay and mixed media, her current work consists mostly of blind contour drawings and gouache paintings of plants and microscopic bacteria.
